STATEMENT OF FAITH

1.     I believe that the Bible is The Word of God and is given to us by the inspiration of God, through His Spirit. All scripture is profitable for reproof, correction and profitable for doctorine and instruction in righteousness (2nd Tim 3:16).

2.      I believe that there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4).I believe that He has revealed Himself not only as the Father of all creation, but He has also been revealed through His only begotten Son Jesus. (Colossians 1:15, John 1:1,14, Jude 25). He continues to reveal Himself through His Holy Spirit. (John 15:26, Acts 5:3,4).

3.     I believe that these three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - make up what the Bible calls, "The Godhead" (Colossians 2:9) I believe that the full comprehension of this wonderful union is a mystery. (Mark 4:11, Romans 16:25, Colossians 1:26).

4.     I believe that Jesus was both fully human and fully God. (Philippians 2:5-8, Hebrews 4:15). That He is the expressed "image of the invisible God." (Colossians 1:15). That He is to be worshiped, praised and adored (along with the Father and Holy Spirit) not only for what He has done, but for who He is - the Son of God and God the Son. (Revelation 5:8-9).

5.     I believe that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one in substance and purpose, but are different in position and authority. (John 14:28, John 16:7). I do not believe that the Father and Son are the same person...or that the Holy Spirit is just the force of God - for I see that the Bible makes clear distinctions between each of them, and they are eternally three different wonderful revelations of the one true and living God. Therefore, I adhere with all my heart to what Bible historians have called, "The Doctrine of the Trinity." (Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22).

6.     I believe that Jesus was born when "the Word became flesh," and that He was born to a virgin - to one who had never known a man. (John 1:14, Matthew 1:18).

7.     I believe that He completely fulfilled all righteousness and the law, that He was sorely tempted, but never once yielded and never sinned. (Matthew 3:15, Matthew 5:17, Matthew 4:1, Hebrews 4:15).

8.    I believe that men rejected Him, and therefore rejected His Father (Luke 10:16), and the forgiveness His Father offered. (John 3:18-19). I believe that He suffered a cruel and horrible death by crucifixion on a cross and that He became the great sacrifice of God "to take away the sins of the world." (John 1:29).

9.     I believe that "He Himself bore in His body our sins" (Isaiah 53:4-5), suffering the most horrible of all fates - separation from the Father (for a time) - and that His heart literally burst with grief and that it was this that killed Him - our sins. (John 19:34).

10.    I believe that He rose from the tomb on the third day in triumph over Satan, hell and death, winning the position and name above all others, so that no one can be saved by any other way or by any other name other than Jesus'. (Philippians 2:9-11, Acts 4:12).

11.    I believe that salvation is a free gift by God's grace (but that this gift although free, is not cheap - for it cost God the life of His own beloved Son). (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8, 1 John 1:9).

12.    I believe that one is saved only by faith in Jesus' finished work on the cross, and that if this faith is real it will produce repentance - which is a change of mind concerning sin and everything not pleasing to God - that results in a total change of actions and deeds. (Acts 2:37-38, Matthew 3:8, James 2:14,26). I believe that repentance is not optional, but necessary proof that one has true "faith that leads to eternal life." (Luke 13:1-5).

13.    I believe that Jesus appeared to over 500 eye witnesses at once, and then ascended to the right hand of the Father to make constant intercession for His chosen ones. (1 Corinthians 15:6, Mark 16:9, Hebrews 7:25).

14.    I believe that He promised and sent the Holy Spirit into the world, to both convict the world of sin, and to empower true believers to be good and faithful witnesses to His glory and purpose. (John 16:8, Luke 24:49, Isaiah 43:10, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4).

15.    I believe that every believer needs to be empowered by this same Holy Spirit every day, and that without this Spirit we can never have the greatest gift of God to every believer - holiness! Is this a deeper indwelling? Paul says to work out your own salvation in fear and trembling for we walk by faith and not by sight. Does this allow man to be a better witness, teacher, preacher, evangelist, and counselor. For we are all called to do the His Work. (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:16, Luke 3:16)

16.    I believe in the gifts of the Spirit and they must be working in the church body today. (1Corinthians 12:1-14)

17.    I believe that God has appointed a day of judgement and wrath called "The great and terrifying day of the Lord". (Isaiah 2:12, Malachi 4:5). I believe that this judgement "begins with the house of God" (1 Peter 4:17-18) and that He is right now entering into judgement with His own people, "separating the sheep from the goats." (Matthew 25:32).

18.    I believe that Jesus Christ will physically again return to the earth, "Coming on the clouds with great power and glory along with multitudes of His saints." (Matthew 24:27,30; 1 Thessalonians 3:13). This time, though, He will not be coming to save the world or to offer salvation, but He will be coming to judge the world and avenge the honor of His Father and the blood of all those who died for the testimony of God. (Revelation 6:9-10, Revelation 19:11-16).

19.    ...And that He will separate all ungodliness, hypocrisy, unholiness and everything that is unlike Himself and cast it into the lake of fire, and that everyone who has not been "called, chosen and faithful" will be "tormented day and night forever and ever...and they will have no rest." (Revelation 21:8, Revelation 20:14-15, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 14:11).

20.    ...And that He will make a new heaven and a new earth and marry His holy, righteous and true Bride - the Church (the remnant of believers who have "endured until the end" - "Having no spot, nor wrinkle, nor any such thing") and they will literally live happily ever after! (Revelation 21:1, Revelation 19:7, Matthew 10:22, Ephesians 5:25-27).
